Meanwhile, in Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah opened the first meeting of the third term of the 13th Perak State Legislative Assembly on March 31, and it wasn't without controversy.

Members of the opposition party wore black, rather than the customary uniform, in protest on various issues, and it has created a bit of a stir.
This was the first time the Sultan has appeared at the Assembly since his proclamation as the 35th Sultan of Perak on May 29th, 2014.
The Sultan, unlike the opposition, wore his full ceremonial royal attire, including the tengkolok folded in the ayam patah kepak (broken chicken wing) style, with the aigrette based on the Perak coat of arms.
The Sultan was accompanied by his wife, Tuanku Zara Salim, whose official title is the Raja Permaisuri of Perak, and who wore her tiara. Both were wearing the white/cream colour robes, which is reserved for the Sultan's use alone.
Earlier, he inspected the guard-of-honour.
